#Tevildo #PrinceOfCats #Thu #Annatar #Artano #Aulendil - with his collar of gold. #LOTR #LordOfTheRings #Tolkien
In light of the prospective Amazon LOTR show that will apparently be looking at the second age I thought I’d try a response to some of the ideas of a disguised Sauron, in his “fair” form. I took “fair“ to just mean “easy on the eye” rather than blonde, and I also took on board the idea of the proto-Sauron, as written by Tolkien, was “the Prince of Cats”, and so this sleek rock star look just seemed to fit. Tevildo apparently wore a collar of gold that allowed him to control others, I guess this was an early version of the ring, and though I thought first about a collar for Annatar that looked more like Klimt”s jewelled collar as seen in the portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer and Judith with the head of Holofernes, I eventually opted for this more “Egyptian” collar/choker or bib necklace.
It wasn’t intended, but there is also a touch of an idealised young Crowley to this.
