Omega Horizon is a science fiction tabletop roleplaying game created, written and developed by Dan Prisco-Buxbaum/Paleo Gaming.
“Set in a futuristic galaxy where interstellar empires clash over territory, megacorporations compete for socioeconomic dominance, and criminal cabals rule the shadows. From this backdrop, players emerge as heroes or villains with epic stories to be told.”
The book was produced as part of a Kickstarter and was already in development when I was asked to join the illustration team. I produced all the work remotely and in the end produced a considerable amount of art for the book by comparison to other recent (similar-ish) projects. The book itself, now I have it in front of me, has turned out to be huge… and packed to the gills with art.
The book covers “…all of the rules required to run Omega Horizon games ranging from character creation to tools which Game Masters (GMs) can use to create and run campaigns for their players.
Twelve species for players to choose from when creating characters. Numerous Careers (covering various sci-fi archetypes) for players to choose from, each with a unique ability that impacts gameplay. Example planets and star systems that GMs can use as backdrops for their adventures. Allies, antagonists, creatures, and traps for GMs to challenge their players. Short fiction vignettes introducing each chapter, designed to help immerse GMs and players in the universe of Omega Horizon”.
The book can be purchased in physical and digital form from DriveThruRPG - just search Omega Horizon or Paleo Gaming.
The illustrations I produced included space ship and vehicle art, character and creature art, narrative environment and interior scenes, plus weapon and inventory kit and object art. You can find some of my particular faves below.
All the work was produced in Procreate.
