Four Pseudo-medieval Wagon Designs (3D sketches)

Looking at a series of designs for a pseudo-medieval (D&D style) overland wagon train, incorporating a number of elements, such as a specialised “grand” private wagon, a mobile strong-room and/or guard wagon, a huge mobile “court” or formal audience chamber, a and a regular multi-purpose wagon.

Some of the designs incorporate a set of tri-form wheels/axles, for movement through rough terrain, with a series of “chucks/chocks” that can be added to each set to create a regular wheel.

These were just sketched out in an fairly intuitive bit of iPad based 3D software, but would be just as viable in sketch up or similar, as these aren’t for for further development in 3D but more likely paint-overs in Procreate.

Video fly around showing all four variations of the wagons/carriages.

The first designed as a mobile office/meet and greet space for an adventurers patron. Here shown being drawn by two large creatures (see creature designs elsewhere).

Thos wheels in more detail. It seemed like a fun Idea. I imagined them locked in place with pegs and even chains.

Here we have the large Yurt version, designed for travel across wide plains or similar non-mountainous or uneven rocky landscapes. Again designed as a mobile court/royal tent, in which patrons or nobels might meet with adventurers to discuss business.

The third style. This an armoured transport, whether used as a mobile vault or a prison transport. It has spaces for side and roof mounted guards and two built in ballista positions.

The wagon uses the same multi terrain wheel system as explored above.

Style four is a much simpler affair, a sort of hybrid between a Roman nobels travelling wagon and the typical Wild West/Wells Fargo postal wagons.
